I was listening to someone on the radio. He said that ammo was going up 35% June 1st. I don't know if that is true or not. Just telling you what I heard.

who makes that?

back when I used to burn through half a case for fun, I bought all surplus. we liked east german best, or czech, then bulgarian, then russian was the cheapest and dirtiest.

I bought 3 cases of Golden Tiger (shoots better than Wolf) for 145.00 per case last week.

It is still out there.

Russian. Its manufactured at the new Tula plant, which is supposedly the newest and most advanced ammo plant in the country (for whatever thats worth). I saw a few people raving about it on some AK boards so I gave it a try. Understand, by US standards its still dirty, but doesn't seem to be as bad as Wolf or even Barnaul (Bear ammo). The accuracy definitely seems much more consistent out of my Mak 90 and I have yet to have an FTFs. Of course I've only been through about 200 rounds so far (2 different batches however). So a little early to say anything definitive about the reliability, but I have yet to see any complaints on any boards...HTH!

I just picked up 2 more here.
Not a lot of .308 out there. I like the packaging too!

Was watching the news at the airport the other day and there was a report that civilian ammo production has been hindered by extreme military demand. So law enforcement and civilian ammo prices will go up and shipment of orders will be delayed. I had to call BS on that one. Winchester makes the militaries 9mm and the police don't even use the ss109 ammo in 223 that the military does. The military only uses three main rounds: the Nato 5.56, 7.62 and the 9mm parabellum. Even if we were not supplying the INA with surplus russian ammo we still have a whole lot of different manufacturers to turn to for ammo. That story sounds fishy.

On a little brighter side note I seem to own more things that are going up in value( beans bullets,bandaids,shelter,etc.) as to things going down (suv,mcmansions,tvs,401k,etc.) Yes today my glass is half full. ;-)
